Carmine is going to bed when the dark voice in her head starts to pull her into the nightmare that is her past. As she relieves her darkest years, from when her father took her sister and left to the night she murdered her mother and step-father, Carmine is begging to wake up from the drowning darkness as the voice taunts her. She is eventually enveloped in a light that provided her with warmth and comfort as she begins to wake up. The source of the light is no other than Rex, who remains sound asleep beside her. It's then that she realizes that her past was behind her and did not determine what her future would be.
